Agent | 17 Puzzle

Subject: Operation Blank Canvas – The Agent 17 Anomaly Classification: Eyes Only

Briefing: Agent 17 is a ghost. By all accounts, they ceased to exist three years ago following the Vienna incident. Yet, as of 0400 hours this morning, a dead-drop containing a 4x4 sliding tile puzzle was recovered from a known 17 contact in Prague.

The puzzle itself is anodized black titanium. Standard number tiles, 1 through 15. However, the tile numbered '17' is physically present, overlapping the grid and rendering the puzzle mathematically impossible to solve in a traditional sense.

When our tech team attempted to force the tiles into order, the '17' tile triggered a micro-acoustic transmitter. It broadcast a single phrase on a scrambled frequency: "The lock isn't on the box. It’s on the pieces."

Your Objective: Do not try to solve the puzzle, Operator. Find out where the material for the '17' tile was mined. That is the location of Agent 17.

You are given a circular cipher disk (either physical or digital) with two alphabets. Agent 17 has left a note: "When the eagle aligns with the key, the truth comes out at midnight." The solution requires matching a specific symbol (eagle = stars in some versions) to a date or time.

You find an encoded directive: "7-1-20 3-15-13-13-1-14-4." It's a simple numeric cipher: each number maps to a letter (1=A, 2=B, … 26=Z). Words are separated by spaces.

Task: Decode the message.

Hint 1: Map numbers to letters. Hint 2: Group numbers into words as given.

Solution:

(Alternate: If you keep exact decode, read "GAT COMMAND" as an internal code name.)

The Agent 17 puzzle is more than just a locked door in a spy game. It is a masterclass in misdirection, cryptography, and patience. Whether you are facing a Caesar cipher, a grid deduction, or a hidden image, remember the cardinal rule: Agent 17 always leaves three clues, but one of them is a lie. Find the two truths, apply the ROT17 shift, and the extraction point will reveal itself.

Now, go decode that dead drop. The mission depends on it.

What Our Clients Say

Hidden Gem

I had 2 windshields replaced on my previous car at a different glass company. I went back there and got an estimate for this windshield but thought I would get a second estimate from Central Glass. I am sure glad as it saved me over $140. This is now my glass company of choice.
