If there is one reason Babumoshai Bandookbaaz remains memorable, it is Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He devours the screen with a performance that is both menacing and endearing. He plays Babu with a nonchalance that is terrifying. Whether he is casually eating a meal before an assassination or negotiating a price for a hit, Siddiqui strips away the glamour usually associated with Bollywood gangsters. He makes Babu look real—sweaty, flawed, and incredibly dangerous.

Bidita Bag, stepping into the role originally intended for Chitrangada Singh, delivers a bold performance. Her chemistry with Siddiqui is electric, raw, and at times, boundary-pushing. She holds her own in a male-dominated narrative, portraying a woman who uses her agency to survive in a patriarchal hellscape. Jatin Goswami, as the foil to Nawaz’s character, is impressive, effectively capturing the desperation of a "wannabe" in a world of "somebodies."
