The 2020 version introduced a smoothed-out logic for dormer placement. You can insert gable, shed, or hip dormers along any roof face, with automatic cutouts for windows.
Creating dormers manually in Max 2020 requires booleans or heavy poly modeling. Batzal includes a dedicated Dormer Placement tool. You simply click on the roof face, choose a dormer style, and the plugin automatically cuts the opening, builds the dormer walls, roof, and side flashings.
