Championship Manager 03 04 Best Players -
Defensive Midfield / Center Mid (DM/MC)
Attacking Midfielders / Wingers (AMC/AML/AMR)
A great team needs a heartbeat in the center of the park. CM 03/04 had specific player profiles that were overpowered, specifically regarding work rate and long shots.
1. Steven Defour Before he was a Belgium international, he was a gem at KAA Gent. Defour is arguably the greatest central midfielder in the game’s history. He had everything: tackling, passing, work rate, and stamina. If you paired him with a defensive anchor, Defour would run the game. He was the Patrick Vieira figure you could sign for under £1 million at the start of a new save. championship manager 03 04 best players
2. Kim Källström The "Swedish Beckham." Playing for Rennes, Källström was the king of the left flank. His crossing and long shots were maxed out early, and he was surprisingly robust. If you needed to break down a stubborn defense, you simply instructed Källström to "shoot from distance." The ball would end up in the top corner more often than not.
3. Miguel Veloso Before he became a household name, Veloso was hiding in Sporting CP’s B team or available for a low release clause. A defensive midfielder who could also play center-back, Veloso was aggressive, tactically intelligent, and physically dominant. He was the perfect signing to solidify a shaky defense.
This was the golden generation. Sign these players early (first season) at all costs. Defensive Midfield / Center Mid (DM/MC)
Central Defenders (DC)
Full Backs (DL/DR)
These players have a low "Reputation" but a high "Current Ability." You can sign them for peanuts from obscure leagues. Attacking Midfielders / Wingers (AMC/AML/AMR)
If you managed a giant like Real Madrid or Manchester United and had cash to burn, these were the players you bought to ensure instant success.
1. Rafael van der Vaart The consensus best player in the game for the attacking midfielder role. Playing for Ajax, he was expensive, but he was the complete package. He could pass, dribble, finish, and lead the team. In many saves, RVD would score 25 goals and get 20 assists from midfield. He was the "Zidane" figure every save needed.
2. Carlos Tevez Before he moved to West Ham and Manchester United in real life, he was tearing up the Argentine league in the game. Signing him from Boca Juniors was difficult due to work permits (unless you had a feeder club), but he was worth the hassle. A striker with high aggression, pace, and dribbling, Tevez would bully defenders and score volleys from impossible angles.
3. Vincent Kompany In real life, he was a centre-back. In CM 03/04, he was the world's best defensive midfielder. Available from Anderlecht, Kompany was physically monstrous. If you played him as a Defensive Midfielder (DM), he would win every header and tackle. If you really wanted to ruin the game engine, you played him as a Centre Back (CB), where his pace and positioning made your defense impenetrable.
