The only downside is that development has stopped. Player, the developer, moved on to other projects. However, version 1.23 and 1.25 of FastCraft are so stable that they have become "abandonware perfection"—they simply do not need updates. fastcraft 1.8.9

For 1.8.9, FastCraft remains technically functional but is rarely used standalone today. Most PvP clients (e.g., Lunar Client, Badlion, CheatBreaker) incorporate equivalent or superior optimizations. The original mod files are still archived on sites like CurseForge (mirrored) and MCArchive.
