On PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the save system is standard for the era. It ties directly into the system's internal storage. There isn't much flash here, but there is reliability. The system allows for multiple save slots, which was a strange omission in some other racing titles of the time. This allowed households with one console to support multiple drivers without overwriting each other's careers—a simple, yet crucial feature for a couch-coop racing household.
It is impossible to review the GRID Autosport save system without acknowledging why it was designed this way. Its predecessor, GRID 2, faced backlash for its restrictive save system that prevented players from easily restarting their careers or managing multiple profiles.
