Grim Dawn Save File Sharing Review

To share save files effectively, you need to know where they live and what each file does.

Unzip the downloaded file. You will usually see:

You cannot. The flag is permanent on that character. However, you can transfer all gear to a new, fresh character using the shared stash, and that new character will not have the flag (but the gear origin might still be suspicious to purists).
