Updating the wrong firmware version can permanently disable (brick) your router.
Log into the router (usually 192.168.1.1, user: admin, pass: admin or on sticker). Go to Device Information:
Write these down. The last letters/numbers (B032) indicate the build.

If you cannot log in, try the default credentials or reset the router via the pinhole button for 10 seconds.
Step 1 – Access the Web Interface
Open 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Log in with admin credentials. Updating the wrong firmware version can permanently disable
Step 2 – Locate Firmware Upgrade Go to Maintenance → Device Administration → Firmware Upgrade (or sometimes System Tools → Upgrade).
Step 3 – Choose File
Click “Browse” and select the downloaded .bin firmware file.
Step 4 – Start Upgrade Click “Upgrade” or “Apply”. Do not interrupt this process. Log into the router (usually 192
Step 5 – Wait 3-5 Minutes The router will reboot automatically. The power LED will blink during the update. Do not power off or unplug.
Step 6 – Verify Update Re-login to the router and check the “Firmware Version” again. It should now show the new version.
Step 7 – Factory Reset (Highly Recommended) After update, go to Maintenance → Reset and perform a factory reset. This clears old settings that may conflict with the new firmware. Then reconfigure your ISP login (PPPoE username/password).
