Warning: You have entered wrong codes too many times (usually 10 tries). The modem is now permanently locked. You cannot fix this with v5.7.7; you would need a hardware JTAG programmer, which costs more than a new modem.
You need the IMEI number. Look at the sticker under the battery or on the back of the modem. It is a 15-digit number. Alternatively, dial *#*#4634#*#* in the modem's web interface or use the "AT Command" terminal.
Fix: Your drivers are missing. Download "Huawei Data Card Driver" or install the full "Mobile Partner" software (bundled with the modem). Ensure the modem is in "Modem Mode," not "CD-ROM Mode." huawei modem unlocker v5.7.7

Insert the foreign SIM card (the one that doesn't belong to the original carrier). Connect the modem to your PC via USB. Launch your PC's default browser. Usually, the modem will redirect you to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.8.1. You will see a message: "SIM card is invalid" or "Enter NCK Code" (Network Control Key). If you see that box, you are ready. Alternative: If the dashboard doesn't show a box for a code, you will use AT commands (Step 3).
You have two options here:
Option A (GUI): In the unlocker tool, click "Unlock." The software sends the code via AT command. Wait for "Unlock Successful."
Option B (Manual via Dashboard): If your modem's web interface has a box for "NCK Code," type the generated code there and press "Submit/Unlock." You need the IMEI number
Option C (AT Commands): Open a serial terminal (like PuTTY) on the modem's COM port. Type:
AT^CARDLOCK="[YOUR CODE HERE]"
Press Enter. The modem will reply ^CARDLOCK: 0 (meaning unlocked).
