Itoo Software Forest Pack Pro For 3ds Max 2023 -

Forest Pack Pro comes with a massive, ever-growing library of assets.

Despite its polish, users encounter issues. Here are solutions specific to the 2023 ecosystem:

Problem: Forest Pack causes 3ds Max 2023 to crash when using "Paint" distribution. Fix: Disable "Windows Ink" in the Wacom or tablet settings. Max 2023 handles stylus input differently. Use "Classic Pen Mode." itoo software forest pack pro for 3ds max 2023

Problem: Textures on scattered objects are black in V-Ray 6. Fix: Ensure "Render Mode" is set to "Meshes" (not "Proxies") in the Forest Pack object. The V-Ray scene interpreter needs explicit geometry for complex shaders.

Problem: The Library Browser is empty. Fix: iToo moved the default library path. In 3ds Max 2023, go to Scripting > Run Script. Navigate to C:\Users\Public\Documents\iToo Software\ForestPackPro\Lib\ Re-link the Library.xml file. Forest Pack Pro comes with a massive, ever-growing

⚠️ Older Forest Pack versions (pre-7.0) do NOT support 3ds Max 2023. You must use Forest Pack Pro 7.1.1 or higher.

With Chaos acquiring Scatter (the old Multiply plugin), many users wondered if Forest Pack was obsolete. It is not. Forest Pack Pro still offers spline following (for rows of streetlights) and area exclusion (avoiding buildings) that Chaos Scatter lacks. In 3ds Max 2023, you can actually use both: Chaos Scatter for simple grass, Forest Pack Pro for hero trees and complex biomes. Despite its polish, users encounter issues

For scenes requiring car chases through dense woodlands, Forest Pack Pro’s "Camera Frustum Culling" means the render engine only processes trees the camera actually sees. This allows VFX houses to render 100-mile-wide forests on standard workstation hardware.

We tested Forest Pack Pro 6.3 on a scene with 5,000 detailed trees (each 50k polygons).

The dramatic improvement comes from FP 6.3’s support for 3ds Max 2023’s native instancing engine and the "Automatic Workload Balancing" which offloads viewport tasks to the GPU.
