Mailtrack’s backend engineers have deployed new servers in multiple regions to reduce latency. More importantly, they implemented a Yahoo-specific filter that scrubs Yahoo’s proxy IP addresses from the “open” logs. If the system detects a request coming from Yahoo’s known proxy range (IPs starting with 66.218.xxx.xxx or 98.137.xxx.xxx), it waits 2–5 seconds to see if the actual recipient’s client loads the same pixel.
