[ISP Fiber] ---> [Nokia G-010G-R] ---> [Your Router (WAN port)] ---> [LAN/Wi-Fi]

Most users do not need to access the interface. However, advanced users may want to view optical power levels.

Default IP Address: 192.168.100.1 Username: user (or admin depending on ISP firmware) Password: user (or check sticker on the bottom of the unit)

Note: Many ISPs lock the "admin" account. If "user/user" fails, your ISP has disabled local access. You must call them for bridge configurations.

⚠️ Do not reset unless directed by your ISP – It may deregister your service temporarily.

There is also an environmental angle to the G-010G-R narrative. As e-waste becomes a global crisis, the ability to repurpose ISP equipment is vital. A decommissioned G-010G-R, if unlocked, can be repurposed for private networks or testing labs. However, doing so safely requires the schematics and safety warnings found in the full user guide—specifically regarding laser safety.

"If you don't know what you're doing, that fiber port can damage your eyes," Thorne warns. "The manual isn't just instructions; it's a safety document. It reminds us that we are dealing with light lasers, not just copper wires."

Disclaimer: This guide is provided for informational purposes. While the Nokia G-010G-R is commonly used by ISPs (Internet Service Providers) like Frontier, Consolidated Communications, and others, specific firmware and settings vary by provider. Always refer to your ISP’s official documentation.

| LED | State | Meaning | |-----|-------|---------| | PWR | Solid Green | Power ON | | PWR | Off | No power | | PON | Solid Green | Registered with OLT (normal) | | PON | Blinking Green | Attempting registration | | PON | Off | Not registered / no signal | | LOS | Solid/Blinking Red | Fiber signal lost or below threshold | | LOS | Off | Optical signal OK | | LAN | Solid Green | Link established at 1 Gbps | | LAN | Solid Amber/Orange | Link at 10/100 Mbps | | LAN | Blinking | Data activity | | LAN | Off | No Ethernet link |

Note: If LOS is red, PON will be off. This indicates a physical fiber issue or mismatch at the OLT.
