Defender or third-party AV may flag Dragon’s audio driver injection as suspicious. Temporarily disable real-time protection during installation.
Since Nuance has discontinued v15, official retailers no longer sell it. Your options:
Warning: Avoid downloading from torrents. Keygens often contain ransomware, and Dragon’s activation servers will detect and block invalid keys.
Run “Check for Updates” inside Dragon’s Help menu. Nuance may have released a micro-patch beyond .200 (e.g., .210). Install it to stay current.
Fix: Convert your file to mono 16-bit PCM WAV using Audacity. Dragon prefers mono audio for voice separation.
No tool is without drawbacks. First, installation requires a USB microphone or a high-quality headset; built-in laptop microphones yield poor results with this version (unlike newer cloud-based systems that benefit from noise suppression algorithms). Second, version 15.61.200 is no longer supported by Nuance; there are no updates for new Windows features or browsers. Finally, the initial training and voice profile creation can be tedious—a 10-15 minute reading exercise is mandatory, and full accuracy takes days of use.
