This is the million-dollar question. The AVIC-ZH0007 is an older generation unit. It does not natively support wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

However, it may support Bluetooth audio streaming. Once you switch the language to English, the Bluetooth pairing process becomes much easier. You can stream Waze or Google Maps audio through your car speakers, even if the visual map isn't on the Pioneer screen.

The official manual is available for free from Pioneer Japan. You will then translate it.

  • You don't need to pay $15 for a sketchy PDF download. The Pioneer Carrozzeria AVIC-ZH0007 is a fantastic piece of hardware that suffers from a language barrier. By using the manual from an international "twin" model or utilizing real-time camera translation apps, you can unlock the full potential of your JDM find for free.

Enjoy the superior sound quality of Carrozzeria—and enjoy the satisfaction of cracking the code.

Finding a native English manual for the Pioneer Carrozzeria AVIC-ZH0007 is difficult because it was designed specifically for the Japanese domestic market (JDM). Because these units were never officially released globally, Pioneer does not provide an official English version of the manual. Manual & Language Solutions

Official Japanese Manual: You can access the original PDF from Pioneer Japan's Support. Use a translation tool like Google Lens on your smartphone to translate the text in real-time by pointing your camera at the screen or printed pages.

Community Translations: While rare, some users on forums like GitHub or Google Drive share translated snippets or simplified English guides for similar Carrozzeria models.

Menu Navigation: Most users find that the unit only supports partial language changes. You can often switch some UI elements to English by going to Settings (設定) > System Settings (システム設定) > Language (言語). Key Technical Limitations

Radio Frequencies: Japanese units use a different FM frequency range (76.0 to 90.0 MHz). To receive standard international stations, you will likely need an external FM Band Expander.

Navigation: The built-in maps are typically locked to Japan. Global GPS mapping usually requires third-party firmware modifications, which are not officially supported and can be risky to install.

Multimedia: Bluetooth, CD, and USB functions typically work globally, though the interface may remain largely in Japanese. Firmware & Support

Changing the English language from Japanese Pioneer Carrozzeria Radii

    | Feature | What to expect | | :--- | :--- | | Language | Japanese only on menus (no hidden English setting). | | Radio | Does NOT pick up normal FM/AM outside Japan (needs a frequency expander). | | Map/Navigation | Only Japan maps. Cannot be changed to other countries. | | Bluetooth Audio | Works fine. Menu labels: 音楽 (Music), 通話 (Call). | | Reverse Camera | Wiring color codes: Yellow/Black video +, Black/White ground (standard). |

Even if you successfully switch the menu language to English, you might run into a second issue: The GPS Navigation Maps.

The AVIC-ZH0007 comes pre-loaded with maps of Japan. It does not have maps of the USA, Europe, or Australia.

Without the manual, you might encounter error messages you don't understand. Here are the most common ones:

"Eject Error" or Disc Jam: If you see an error regarding the disc drive, the unit likely has a mechanical lock. The reset button is usually a tiny pinhole on the front faceplate. Use a paperclip to press it while the unit is on. This acts as a "soft reboot."

"Parking Brake" Warning: For safety, video and certain navigation features only work when the car is parked. If you see a warning symbol with a "P" inside a circle, the unit detects the car is moving.

This is what you actually want. Some Carrozzeria units have a hidden "Language" menu. Try this sequence (using the button locations from the AVIC-Z130BT manual):

Warning: Do not attempt to flash US firmware onto the Japanese AVIC-ZH0007. You will brick the unit. The digital TV tuner (1Seg) and map databases are region-locked.
