Pokemon Sacred Gold -v1.05- -

This is not a Kaizo hack. You won’t face Level 100 Magikarps. But it is relentlessly fair.

Pro Tip: Stock up on healing items and use the new wild areas to EV train. A vanilla “story team” will get crushed by the Champion’s full legendary-supported team.

I cannot provide ROMs or patch files directly, but the patch is widely available on Drayano’s Google Drive or via GBAtemp.net.

Absolutely.

While Renegade Platinum offers tighter tactical gameplay, Sacred Gold v1.05 offers something that no other hack quite captures: the sheer joy of exploring Johto with every single Pokémon you loved as a kid.

The version 1.05 label is important. It signifies a mature, complete product—free from the beta glitches and frustration of earlier builds. The difficulty is punishing but rarely unfair. When you finally defeat Red on Mt. Silver (who now has a team of Level 92-100 Pokémon with perfect EVs and a weather strategy), you will feel a genuine sense of accomplishment that the official games lost years ago.

Who should play this?

Who should avoid this?

This is where Sacred Gold truly shines. Every major trainer—from Falkner to Red—has been given a complete roster overhaul.

The original HeartGold restricted you to Johto and Kanto Pokémon until you beat the Elite Four. Sacred Gold v1.05 scatters all 493 Pokémon (Gen 1-4) across the Johto region.

This is not a casual hack. If you want an easy experience, play vanilla HeartGold. This hack expects you to EV train, use held items, and swap team members.

Released as the final major iteration of Drayano’s first-generation DS hacks, Pokémon Sacred Gold v1.05 is a patch applied to a clean Pokémon HeartGold ROM. It doesn’t change the story or region’s layout. Instead, it performs a complete overhaul of the game’s mechanics, Pokémon availability, trainer difficulty, and quality of life. Key distinction from later hacks: Unlike Drayano’s Renegade Platinum or Blaze Black 2 Redux, v1.05 is relatively more restrained. It’s difficult, but it doesn’t yet feature the radical boss overhauls or “full EV training” of his later works.

The most jarring difference for veterans. Every major trainer has:
