Sacred Gold Save Files

This method is infinitely more secure than downloading random saves from the internet.

Common emulator save locations:

Open your emulator → load Sacred Gold → save in-game → check file modification timestamp. This method is infinitely more secure than downloading


Inside each character folder, you will find a set of files with specific extensions. Understanding these is key to backing up or transferring progress. Inside each character folder, you will find a

  • Settings.dyn: Stores local configuration settings specific to that character (camera angle, key bindings used at the time of save).
  • Sacred Gold is designed to be difficult. Playing through the first 45 minutes of dialogue, pokémon catching tutorials, and Mr. Pokémon’s fetch quest can be exhausting for veteran players. A "post-tutorial" save file drops you directly at the point where you can choose your starter and explore.

    Installing a different save file is surprisingly easy, but the exact method depends on your emulator.
