Skyrim Racemenu Error You Are Running Skse Version 0000 Link

If the version doesn’t match the RaceMenu version you intended to install, something went wrong during installation.

"You are running SKSE version 0.0.0.0. Please upgrade to a newer version." (Often accompanied by a link to the SKSE website or a prompt to check the SKSE version)

This error is almost exclusively associated with RaceMenu. It occurs when the RaceMenu mod tries to verify that you have the Script Extender installed, but it cannot detect the version number.

Even if you have SKSE64 installed, RaceMenu is reading the version as 0.0.0.0. This usually happens for one of three reasons:

RaceMenu relies on Address Library for SKSE Plugins.

❌ Launching through SKSE but still getting error
→ Your antivirus might be blocking SKSE’s DLL. Add an exception for your entire Skyrim folder.

❌ "But I have the latest SKSE!"
→ Did you update Skyrim through Steam after installing SKSE? That breaks SKSE. Wait for SKSE to update or downgrade Skyrim.

❌ Using a pirated/cracked Skyrim
→ SKSE and RaceMenu often fail on cracked versions due to modified EXEs. This guide assumes a legitimate Steam copy.
