Enter Sonic 1 Forever, a fan-made decompilation project that transforms the original 16-bit classic into a modern, feature-rich experience. On Android, the Expansion Pack takes this even further, effectively turning your phone into a portable “director’s cut” of Sonic’s first outing.

Because this is a fan project, you will not find it on the Google Play Store. You need to sideload it. Here is the safe, step-by-step method:
Warning: Only download from the official GitHub or the Sonic Forever community Discord. Avoid shady "APK download" sites.
Step 1: On your Android device, go to Settings > Security and enable "Install from unknown sources" for your browser or file manager.
Step 2: Visit the official Sonic 1 Forever GitHub repository (search "S1F-Android" on Google). Look for the release tagged “Expansion Pack v2.0” or higher.
Step 3: Download the .apk file AND the expansion data file (usually a .foreverpack or .s1f file).
Step 4: Install the APK. Do not open it yet.
Step 5: Using a file manager (like ZArchiver), move the expansion pack file into: Internal Storage/Sonic1Forever/Expansions/
