Chest timers? Gone. Energy systems? Usually disabled. You can race endlessly without waiting three hours for a chest to unlock or watching an ad to refill your boost meter.

Note: iOS private servers are significantly harder to install due to Apple’s signing requirements (requiring AltStore or sideloading with a revoked certificate). This guide focuses on Android, where 95% of the private server community resides.
Prerequisites:
Step 1: Find a Reputable Community. Go to Discord or Reddit. Search for “SFSB Private Server.” Look for a community that posts regular updates and has a public GitHub page for their patches. Avoid any server that requires a "paid subscription" to access.
Step 2: Download the Custom APK. Uninstall the official Sonic Forces: Speed Battle from your device (you cannot have both installed simultaneously due to package name conflicts). Download the modded APK provided by the server host.
Step 3: Configure the Hosts File (The Crucial Step). Most private servers do not work by simply installing the APK. You must redirect the game’s network traffic. Official SEGA servers have global load-balancing
