Traditionally, the home is theorized as a site of rigid disciplinary practices (Foucault) and intense labor (Federici). However, the concept of the "naughty home free" posits a subversive domestic sphere where the breaking of normative household rules (the "naughty") leads to a state of existential or psychological liberation (the "free").
