This version asks you to "verify you are human" by logging into your real Ubisoft account. You enter your username and password. The fake tool says "Invalid credentials – try another account." Meanwhile, the attacker now owns your Ubisoft profile, including saved payment methods.
Search for "Ubisoft Activation Key Generator" right now. You will find thousands of videos with titles like "WORKING 2026 – Assassin’s Creed Shadows Keygen NO SURVEY."
These videos are scams. The creator uses video editing software to paste a fake activation code into Notepad. They show a pre-recorded clip of a game launching (which is just a cracked offline version running). Then they direct you to a link shortener that pays them per click before sending you to malware.
YouTube is slowly removing these, but new ones pop up daily because they are profitable for criminals—not because they work.
Worse versions of these generators contain RedLine Stealer, Vidar, or Raccoon malware. Once you disable your antivirus to run the "generator" (as many "tutorials" instruct you to do), the malware:
Cybersecurity firms like Kaspersky and Malwarebytes routinely flag "keygen" sites as among the top sources of malware distribution.
Ubisoft Connect runs massive sales every 6–8 weeks. Historic lows include:
Pro tip: Add games to your wishlist and enable email notifications.
Some fake generators don't ask you to download anything. Instead, they redirect you to a fake Ubisoft login page. You are told: "Sign in to your Ubisoft account to activate the free key." The moment you enter your email and password, those credentials are sent directly to the attacker. They then strip your account of any valuable games or use your saved payment method to buy gifts for themselves.
Generating or using unauthorized activation keys constitutes software piracy and fraud. Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws worldwide (like the EU Copyright Directive), circumventing digital rights management (DRM) is illegal. While individuals are rarely sued for using a generator (the risk is low prosecution, not zero), the distributors face felony charges. More relevant to you: Ubisoft actively bans accounts caught using tampered keys or unauthorized activations. A ban means losing your entire legitimate library forever.
