Let’s be clear: There is no “legitimate” undetected cheat engine. Any tool designed to bypass anti-cheat violates the Terms of Service (ToS) of virtually every competitive online game.

Consequences by platform:

For single-player games or offline modding, the official Cheat Engine works perfectly. There is no need for “undetected” unless you intend to violate ToS.

Some anti-cheats (EAC, BattlEye) have Linux support but behave differently. However, using CE on Linux via Wine adds complexity and still risks detection.

Avoid kernel-mode entirely. Run CE on a separate PC with a hardware KVM (keyboard-video-mouse switch) and read memory via DMA (Direct Memory Access) – this is the only truly “undetected” method, but it costs $200+ for a PCIe FPGA card.

Warning: Even building your own does not guarantee safety. Anti-cheats now use AI heuristics to detect cheating behavior, not just signatures.
