Worth it if you need newer ECU coverage. If 2.25 does everything you need, stay there. For me, moving to 2.70 unlocked several diesel ECUs I couldn’t touch before.
Let me know if you’ve done the same update or if you ran into different issues. Happy to help troubleshoot. update ktag clone from 225 to 270 new
We will split this into three phases: Backup, Driver Patching, and Firmware Update. Worth it if you need newer ECU coverage
✅ All K-line / CAN protocols tested so far work
✅ Bench mode stable
✅ No hardware damage
✅ New ECUs (Bosch MED 17.5.2, EDC17C64) now recognized We will split this into three phases: Backup,
| Issue | Likelihood | Solution | |-------|------------|----------| | Bricked device (no USB detection) | Medium | Need external programmer (e.g., ST-Link) to reflash bootloader. | | Version shows 2.70 but protocols fail | Medium | Wrong firmware variant – reflash correct one (e.g., 2.70 for “R7F” vs “STM32”). | | Checksum errors after update | Low | Reinstall KTAG driver in Windows test mode. | | CAN bus reading errors | Medium | Calibrate voltage levels (some clones need hardware mods after update). |
