Vray 6 For Sketchup 2023 Review

V-Ray 6 shines in exterior rendering. The procedural clouds allow an architect to test different lighting scenarios (overcast vs. sunny) instantly without downloading new HDRI maps. Enmesh allows for the rapid creation of complex façades, such as perforated metal screens, which would take hours to model manually in SketchUp.

Materials have become incredibly realistic.

V-Ray GPU has seen significant optimizations in version 6. It now supports more advanced features that were previously exclusive to the CPU engine, narrowing the gap between stability and raw speed. This allows architects with powerful NVIDIA GPUs to render production-quality images significantly faster. Vray 6 For Sketchup 2023

The post-processing suite inside the render window has been overhauled.

V-Ray 6’s ADL now samples lighting 30% faster. For interior design renders (kitchens, bathrooms), use a single Dome Light with an HDRI, then use the Light Gen to find the perfect sunlight angle. Tip: Open Extensions > V-Ray if the toolbar is hidden

Cloud rendering has been streamlined. Users can now render directly to the Chaos Cloud with a single click, offloading the heavy processing load to remote servers. This allows designers to continue modeling in SketchUp while their final render processes in the background.
