Disclaimer: As of December 31, 2022, Microsoft officially discontinued the Web Platform Installer. The official microsoft.com/web domain redirects to the .NET website, and the built-in product feeds are offline. However, the installer still works for local installations if you have cached MSIs or use offline feeds.

Since the official source is gone, the only way to obtain Web Platform Installer 5.0 is through third-party software archives.
Once you download wpilauncher_x64.exe (approx. 2.5–3.0 MB), right-click the file, go to Properties > Digital Signatures. You should see: Recommendation: Use Web PI 5
If there is no digital signature, or it says "Invalid," delete the file immediately.
