Try different tapping rhythms: double-tap rapidly, or tap continuously from the moment power is applied. Some firmware versions require you to press the physical power button (if equipped) while tapping the screen.
A factory reset is a powerful tool, but frequent resets are a sign of underlying issues. Implement these best practices to avoid needing to reset your ZKTeco UA300 again:
Step 1: Power Down Unplug the 12V DC power adapter and disconnect the Ethernet cable. zkteco ua300 factory reset
Step 2: Open the Casing Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the 4 screws on the back plate of the UA300. Gently separate the front panel (with the screen) from the back panel (with the mounting holes). Do not yank – there is a ribbon cable connecting the two halves.
Step 3: Locate the Reset Pins On the main circuit board (the green PCB), look for a set of two small gold pins labeled J3, RESET, or FACT. They are usually located near the CPU (a large square chip) or next to the backup battery (a coin cell). In many UA300 revisions, these pins are just behind the Ethernet port. Try different tapping rhythms: double-tap rapidly, or tap
Step 4: Short the Pins
Step 5: Power On While Shorting
Step 6: Release the Short
Step 7: Reassemble and Test
Why this works: Shorting the reset pins clears the volatile memory (RAM) that holds the corrupted configuration and forces the bootloader to load the factory default firmware values.
