Dahua manufactures DVRs for many other brands (OEM). The default password for a Lorex DVR (made by Dahua) is usually admin with a blank password, or admin / admin. For Amcrest, it is admin / admin. Always check the specific brand first.

When you purchase a new Dahua Digital Video Recorder (DVR) — whether for a home security system, small business, or large enterprise — it comes with a factory default password. This default allows installers and first-time users to access the device out of the box. However, leaving this password unchanged is one of the most dangerous oversights in modern surveillance security.
