Kanchan Didi Ko Car Chalana Sikhaya -

Bahot log puchenge, "Bhai tu pagal hai? Car scratch ho jayegi. Didi ko driver rakh le."

Lekin main jaanta tha:

Jab maine yeh sab socha, toh mujhe laga — azaadi nahi doge toh aurat kabhi self-sufficient nahi banegi.

Driving sirf ek skill nahi hai. Yeh ek independence card hai.

Teaching Kanchan Didi to drive wasn’t just about a skill. It was about: kanchan didi ko car chalana sikhaya

Today, Kanchan Didi drives better than me. She parallel parks in one go (which I still can’t do), and she loves taking the highway. Our parents, who once said "ladkiyon ko car chalane ki kya zaroorat," now proudly tell relatives, "Humari beti khud car chalaati hai."

28 din ke baad. Main unse bolta, "Didi, aaj main nahi aa raha. Aapko khud Rani Bagh se Chandni Chowk tak jaana hai. Aur mujhe dikhana hai ki aap confident ho."

Unhonne 2 minute silence kiya. Phir bola, "Keys do."

Unke jaane ke baad mera dil baitha hua tha. 1.5 ghante baad phone aaya. Awaaz mein khushi: Bahot log puchenge, "Bhai tu pagal hai

"Bhai, main pahunch gayi! Aur ek scooty wale ne side bhi di! Maine horn bhi maara!"

Main khush ho gaya. Us din woh bhai ke liye nahi, apne liye jeeti thi.

Ek shaam ko, maine unhe keys di aur kaha, "Chalo, movie dekhte hain. Lekin drive tum karogi."

Time: 8:30 PM. Light rain. Traffic moderate. Jab maine yeh sab socha, toh mujhe laga

Didi ka haath steering par jam gaya tha. Unki neck stiff ho gayi. Main chup baitha raha. Signal pe light green hui, unhonne accelerator kaam diya, aur woh nikal gayi.

Movie thi "12th Fail". Didi ne movie ke baad kaha, "Bhai, main aaj fail nahi hui. Main jeet gayi."

Rainy night drive, without fear. Yeh unke driving journey ka turning point tha.

Every time she made a mistake, she would say, "Bas, nahi ho raha mujhse" (That’s it, I can’t do it). And every time, I would remind her of all the difficult things she had done in life—managing household finances, helping me with exams, handling family crises. Compared to that, a car was just a machine.
